Course Description
Duration: 32 hours (16 weeks @ 2 hours per week OR 21 weeks @ 1.5 hours per week). Typical engagement is one session per week for a weekend batch or 3 sessions per week for a regular batch.
Delivery: Instructor-led sessions with Hands-on activities
Kit: Standard L2 kit provided by Proactive to be used at the Centre. Optionally participants can purchase kits at an additional cost
Topics of Coverage:
1. Introduction to Industrial Robotics, typical applications and uses in Industry. Different types of Robots and their classification.
2. Foundation mechanics and its use in Robotics. Understand the principles of linear and angular motion. Know the working of Gear, Pulley, Levers, etc. Assemble a simple lift system.
3. Understand the components of a Robotic Arm. Knowing some standard definitions and key terms in Robotics. (Links, Joints, DOF, Coordinate System, Kinematics)
4. Know your Robotic Arm. Identify features and various components of your Robotic Arm.
5. The Role of Controller in the Arm. Brief understanding of the programmable controller (ESP32) and interconnect to various actuators.
6. The Servo motor and its functions. Program to drive the servo.
7. Know the digital I/O on your controller. Test program to energize various joints of the Robotic arm.
8. Understand the workspace and coordinates.
9. Block program to move the Arm in specific circular paths.
10. How does the gripper work? Block program to use the gripper to hold and release objects.
11. The pick and place Algorithm. Program the Arm to pick and place an object.
12. Advance program to pick and place a pool of objects (pile, stack, lot of objects).
13. Advance program to pick a pen and draw a geometrical pattern.
14. Mini Project 1: Study of the color sensor. Sort objects based on color
15. Mini Project 2: Stacking Robot to stack objects.
16. Demo Session: How to build the 5/6 DOF Robotic Arm.
