Course Description
Duration: 32 hours (16 weeks @ 2 hours per week OR 21 weeks @ 1.5 hours per week).
Typical engagement is one session per week for a weekend batch or 3 sessions per week for a regular batch.
Delivery: Instructor-led sessions with Hands-on activities
Kit: Standard E1 kit provided by Proactive to be used at the Centre. Optionally participants can purchase kits at an additional cost.
Topics of Coverage:
1. Fundamentals of Electricity – Concept of Static and dynamic electricity, Conducting and non-conducting materials, Concept of current flow, Concept of Circuit.
2. Understanding various sources of power. Batteries and their types.
3. Build a circuit with bulbs and switches to study series and parallel circuits.
4. Concept of Voltage, Current and Power. Their units of measurement.
5. What is Resistance to current flow? Identify various types of resistors. Use color bands to find the value of resistance. The Ohm Law. Build a light dimmer using fixed and variable resistors.
6. Know your Multi-meter. How to measure V and R
7. What are Semiconductors? Working of the Diode.
8. Let's generate light. Know the LED. The LED circuit
9. Use of Buzzers in electronics
10. Understanding motors, their types, working and building a simple motor from first principles
11. What are sensors and actuators?
12. The LDR and its working. Understand the workings of a transistor in a circuit. Build an automatic emergency lamp
13. Mini Project 1: Touch Sensor circuit
14. Mini Project 2: Fire Alarm system
15. Mini Project 3: Rain Sensor system
16. Meet the Bot – Understand the components of a Wired Controlled 2WD Bot and its construction. Run the Race to Completion!
